Although I’ll almost certainly be taking the finished guitar to have a full fret dress when it’s done, I wanted it to at least be playable when I first put it together.

Ordered a few bits today:

• Neck – there was a Showcase neck matching my specs and I stood to save money by ordering it, so I did it. Should be here in about 6 weeks.
• Bridge humbucker – JB trembucker in black
• Brass trem block for Floyd Rose – 37mm, L-shaped
• The black plastic trem cover for the back of the guitar

When the humbucker arrives I’m going to grab a scrap of wood and do some tests on how I’m going to mount it ...

It all sounds a bit sterile at the moment, doesn’t it? I’ll focus on being a bit more enthusiastic and interesting now. There are loads of articles still to come before I’ve even got down everything that’s in my head, with all sorts of exciting diagrams, photos, and even MATHS.
